Jacob Christopher "Jake" Lloyd (born March 5, 1989) is an American actor, who gained worldwide fame when he was chosen by George Lucas to play the young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the first film in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He reprised his role in 5 of the video games. Lloyd is also known for his recurring roles as Jimmy Sweet in ER and Young Angelo in The Pretender. He previously guest starred in the show as a character named Ronny Collins. He also appeared in the 1998 TV film Host.

Lloyd was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, the son of Bill Lloyd, an E.M.T. set medic and Lisa, an entertainment agent.[1][2] He has a younger sister named Madison.

He is best known for his performances in the films Jingle All the Way and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Lloyd's latest film, Madison, was filmed in 2001 but not released until April 2005. That year he also gave MTV his first interview since Star Wars in which he stated that he is again auditioning for roles.

In 2007, Lloyd graduated from Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. He is currently attending Columbia College Chicago as a film and video major.[citation needed]

Lloyd recently attended the Supanova CON in Sydney and Perth, Australia and participated in CoolShite's annual supanova podcast in Perth.[3]
